Why would they be so stupid, when their current strategy of supporting terrorist proxies is working so well? The worst response we ever gave the Iranians was when we identified the Terrorists who hit our Marines in Lebanon, Reagan OK'd hitting them from our offshore battleship, and Caspar Weinberger, the Sec of Defense, interposed himself and canceled the strike. Reagan found out about it later, and let it go. When Weinberger died, I was amazed at all the good press he got. In the biggest moment of his life, he failed his country.
