Hi Gerald, Metricom (MCOM) sells Ricochet. it's a wireless internet-access service, offered to computer users in Seattle, and the San Fransisco Bay Area. the system works by broadcasting signals back & forth from transmitters mounted on building tops, and utility poles, to radio modems connected to subscribers' computers. Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen owns about 49% of the company. Metricom is expected to lose less money this year.
