Jill: Re:LEAPS Buying out of the money Leap calls provides leverage, with a two fold or better return compared to the common. Downside risk exists as well, however, way out of money calls are mostly time value premium which does not decay below a floor. By the same token, the time value in the 2000 leap call premiums should start decaying soon, making the 2001 calls a much better choice. (IMHO) Srini.
