Drake,I think you're right, short-term. However, long-term MSFT will, imo, eat AOLs lunch. I'll explain after I get an entry point for MSFT. I think it is a possibility----only if Microsoft stays in the the ISP biz and gets aggressive. The other possibility is that there may not be much left to eat, once we get "cut throat" competition for the ISP and portal advertising. If MSFT sees AOL getting too big, they will try to cut them down to size. MSFT might try to starve any potential threats----does Netscape ring a bell? They will be just carefull not to use Windows to do it. However, mergers might take care of big competition problems and ISPs like AOL may just keep going.
