Why oh why is the Grand Old Party so against to the lawfully allowed manual recount?

I don't think anyone on this thread can legitimately speak on behalf of the "Grand Old Party".

I don't begrudge the Democrats a manual recount, as allowed by law. I am a little confused as to why the Florida Elections Commission can pick and choose when to follow the letter of the law (as when requiring the manual recount), and when to abandon the current law in favor of a previous, invalid version (as in how to conduct the manual recount).

It's my guess that nearly every precinct in the entire Country will have a certain percentage of invalid ballots. So in a vote separated by somewhere between 300 and 1,700 votes, it is a mathematical certainty that if you re-incorporate 19,000 invalid ballots from only one of 67 counties, and that particular county happens to heavily favor one candidate, that candidate is almost guaranteed to gain more than 1,700 votes.

I've read through most of the posts made on this thread in the last few days, and it is painfully obvious that each of us sees what we want to see to bolster our opinion. Nothing I say can convince you that the Republicans have taken the much more dignified and reasonable actions in this fiasco. Nothing you say will convince me that the Democratics are merely trying to get at the truth as expressed by the Will of the People.
