My original question was how you folks can justify the slaughter depicted through out the bible. How you could worship a god that kiils without mercy. How can you justify that in YOUR mind. The answers I got were vague and amounted to you just take it on faith. Does that make sense to you? Then gee, I guess Mao and Hitler were really nice guys that were missunderstood? All you need is faith right?
The questions then went on to the prostitution of women in the old testimate and slavery in the old testimate. Got no answers on those. This is the word of god? This is a faith you want to live for?
You want to discuss why I believe jesus was just a man? Kool. Two starter points:
First indication of a problem. The whole biblical sceniaro of miracle birth, life of miracles, death, and re-birth to deity, has been played out in 16 major religions all predating christianity. So christianity is nothing new.
second: out of the six historians of the time, only one mentions jesus, and his references were conflicting. Odd that a man comes into the world and makes such a momumentous impact and only gets a one liner in the paper so to speak.
But as to why I am doing this. Well, like Brian, I am called by god to shed the light of truth to all you poor sinners to bring the truth to the world. :) |
