I submit this shocking news is somewhat greater than "great". I have been expecting some kind of a DSP announcement, but I am shocked by the breath of WIND's entry into the DSP space. I was expecting something more akin to I2O in which WIND would partner with TI, or some other DSP company, to jointly offer a streamlined kernel for DSP applications. The fact that WIND is offering a generic approach catches me by total surprise. (Of course so did Tornado, and so did I2O, and so did NC, and so did ...)

Now, the Tornado IDE stretches across microprocessors and DSPs, thus cementing its already firmly established market leadership position. Why any embedded systems developer would use anything else is beyond me.

IMHO every investor should have a significant position in WIND - and not trade the stock.
