Also have been a sailor all my life; last boat was a Bristol 41.1 -- sold it 3 years ago. Have been sailing my friends boats in recent years, which is the best. Grab all the fun and leave the maintenance headaches behind. I just learned something I did not know from GVTucker post re T. Boone and subsidies. I own some family farm property in Ohio and have believed for years that farm subsidies were a bad idea. I don't know how such political decisions on which, if and when subsidies should be done given the typical politician knowledge on the details. Leave it to the competitive process. Related to the above, I am seriously considering selling farm land that has been in my family for four generations -- current farm land value is far above where it should be due to the pressures of ethanol. Talk about a dumb thing to make a subsidy on.
