This is what is said at the website.

Global Thermoelectric is developing a solid oxide fuel cell ("SOFC"). This type of cell operates at a temperature of more than 800 degrees C. The anode, cathode and electrolyte are made from ceramic materials to withstand the heat. The SOFC does not need an external reformer to make hydrogen. Instead, due to the high operating temperature, hydrogen is produced directly inside the cell using a catalytic process to break the fuel down.

When the cell is running, it produces a high quality heat as well as electricity. Using this heat outside of the cell stack allows the overall efficiency of the unit to be optimized. Applications such as heating residential water supplies and providing warmth for industrial buildings are among the options being studied.

There are several engineering feats that have yet to be accomplished and will likely take quite some time before they happen. I remember a friend of mine chatting with me, his dad did battery car testing back in the 1970s BC Hydro and Bell labs. It was to be the "next big thing" and they gave batteries a 10 year look out and everyone was saying, "coming soon to a home near you" within 20 years. The results of the study were that it was not economically efficient at all. Although it was fabulously wonderful for politically correct PR releases.

The major problem with GLE and BLD here, is that their unique technologies, while very clean and environmentally wonderful, are far too expensive for consumer implementation. Each still has several technical challenges. Both are great politically correct companies and it wouldn't surprise me if GLE got a little JC gov't contribution somewhere down the road. The near future is all about hybrid vehicles. They meet the coming Californian standards and it is now a known fact that we have over 100 years worth of oil and plenty natural gas to go along with that.

Will GLE and BLD stock prices continue to go up? Sure, maybe... but it's just a politically correct investment. They're not going to take much to the consumer... Still far away from that.

They're both speculative plays, but because they are so politically correct. They will always attract the token money.

end of story.
