Hello Adrian, the opinion I expressed a few posts back is based partially on the fundamental flaws with NetWare 5.0 design and more as a concerned shareholder who was expecting this stock to at least trade a few points above its all time low if things were going well at the company. Wallstreet is not convinced and these -'ve articles appearing in the press are not helping either. The PR may counter the arguments but the problem is that once out in public domain, it only moves users closer to MSFT. As MSFT virtually integrated DOS and Windows 3.1x in Windows 95, why has NOVL not done the same with NetWare 5.x ? The last thing people want to be reminded of going into the new century is DOS ? Seems like the dinasaur age. I am sure your development team must have discussed this issue prior to starting the NetWare 5.x project. The NetWare installation process should automatically create the DOS partition and furthermore detect the hardware in the server and assign the appropriate drivers. The user should not have to be asked which driver to install. Case in point...network drivers and sik drivers and CDROM drivers etc, etc... If Windows 95 could perform these tasks two years ago, why is it taking NOVL so long ? NetWare has to at some point outgrow its 80's style and move on. The integration with JDK is one step in the rght direction but it is not JDK that is going to convince users to upgrade from NetWare 3.x. Java is too soon in the making for it to have an affect as a programming language and especially so for developing large systems. C, C++ are here to stay. Third party developers have stopped developing apps. for the NetWare 4.x environment and are concentrating on the NT platform. That is NT's biggest advantage. No insult against the company or its employees(BOD excepted) but NOVL has to realize it needs a major overhaul and if it can not do the job itself, then give it to someone else. Selling the company IMHO is the best option. V.K
