The trick for the shorts now to accomplish to make their trade a success is to COVER. Expect them to continue their rhetoric, while in fact they will be buying stock as quietly as possible to cover their short position. Without a successful exit from this trade, their efforts will be greatly diminished by a rising price as the huge short interest scrambles over itself trying to purchase stock at the most desirable prices. The risk/reward ratio for a short has greatly diminished at these levels, but it has become rather interesting for those of us who have been repurchasing this stock in the $12 neighborhood. Trying to cover a large short position in a rising market is a frustrating experience.
