For those interested, there is an excellent article ("HIV/AIDS Primary Care: How Good Is It?") published in Drug Benefit Trends, Sept '97, by Drs. Sheffield and Paauw, who point out that major problem areas "are a lack of access to health care for some patients and the overall cost of primary HIV/AIDS care...care of HIV-infected patients is becoming more costly...tests and medications necessary to provide optimal care should be available to all." You can probably get a reprint from www.scp.com
