How about the worst on-line broker. I nominate Wall Street Securities. Thought that they were doing pretty good. Then last night they had an accounting problem. Everything is messed up on the internet. So I called a broker to check on my account status and an order I made. They said that they were having to check all orders (apparently by hand) to see if there is enough cash in the account. This was after the broker checked my balance. Didn't know how long it would be before the order was actually placed. So since it was a limit order, I asked if I could cancel it and place the order to her. Sure, I was told, but I still might be charged for both orders, even though the one I placed on the internet was not even posted yet. I ask to speak to a manager, but none are available. I hang up so I can call back and speak to customer service, but now they are not answering their phones. A very, very screwed up brokerage firm.
