Your view does not fit the facts. There is no question that Bin Laden was upset about the American involvement in Gulf War I. He did not want "infidels" on Muslim land. However, you are missing that Bin Laden wanted to take out Saddam himself in '90 / '91 (a minor oversight<g>) and was upset that his proposal was turned down by the Saudi government.

Bin Laden also wanted the sanctions lifted on the Iraqi people, but not for Saddam's sake. You are confusing al qaeda / Bin Laden's support for the Iraqi people for support of Saddam.
