From what I read, I would think they would have to do that. But hopefully, there is some decent mental health workups done...Totally self-destructive, and she's bright enough to know that...so something has to be terribly wrong.

Good thing that Fitzgerald won't be in charge there...We'd not only get to the bottom of the issue, we'd explore every other planet in the solar system, and who knows...maybe the stars beyond too. And still not get to the answer.
