CIO magazine Oct 15, 2006 issue($9) has supply chain software as cover story. While they surveyed E2open a public e-market system. CMGI was not mentioned because it sells a private e-market solution. Supply chain software is very efficient. You can reduce $5 million inventory due to better turn over system. But the cost to entering the supply chain type management is fairly expensive($1 million) The supply chain software is basically website creation and business run by ERP database such as Oracle 10g. CMGI as a small company has easily a $1.1 billion annual revenue. The future is more and more business will use e-markets and supply chain software by third party can adapt to their businesses more efficiently.
