Little doubt that some surprises will occur. They surely expect to encounter some unk-unks. I am just glad to hear someone stand tall and say, "We have looked at our stuff, and our stuff is gonna work".

This guy is not saying "oh, someone will figure it out", like the city mayors' brief statements on the cnet tv special. He is not saying "We have almost completed the awareness phase of our 5 step repair plan". like many of the federal agencies before congress. He is not fantasizing about switching everything to SAP & Peoplesoft running on client/server systems. Sounds like they have addressed the problem and think they have a pretty good handle on it. Glad to hear it!

Now, I would like to hear a similar statement from General Motors, like maybe; "We are pretty damn sure that 95 Blazers will still run just fine on 1/1/00.", or even, "All our cars require a new set of chips costing you big bucks, pay at this window." I would just like to know that someone is taking the potential threat seriously.
