Here's a report that might interest this forum:

As of February 18 1998, QVGD Investors exercises control or direction of 2,009,400 shares of XL Foods, representing approximately 17.2% of the issued shares of XL Foods.

4. Market where the transaction or occurrence took place: Acquisition of shares on the public stock exchange; and Receipt of new accounts holding shares of the company.

This caught my eye because I have XLF in my portfolio. XLF is an Alberta meat packer. Although it has turned a profit in recent years, it's losing money so far this year. It has a book value of around $2/sh., but is trading at only 0.70. Their year end report is due out anytime now and should be closely followed by their 1stQ report.

Someone obviously thinks it's a deal.
