"Norma, it sounds as if you want the old PC around just to transfer files" yikes, i didn't draw that conclusion from norma's plan, and it looks like you may be right. i thought she was endeavoring to network both machines.... maybe it was this remark... "I just realized I only have one Time Warner (Road Runner) external modem, so I guess I can't have the internet on both PCs." ... that caused me to go off on the assumption that norma wanted to share her internet connection between both pc's. guess we'll know soon enough! :) mark
