In the early '50s when I was around 9 or 10, I read all the Hardy Boys and many of the Nancy Drew books that were available in the local library. It was the pre-TV era for me, so entertainment was limited and the books were especially fun to read. I noticed that the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books had a similiar writing style and format, and I later learned they were written by the same writing team.

I didn't read any of the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales that I can remember -- weren't they more of a girl-thing? :)

read all of the Nancy Drew books and every one of the Grimms Brothers Fairy Tales I could get my hands on....
