Marcos.... You have formed a few assumptions without asking my opinion or considering it when offered. Let me clarify a few things. First you defend your position on the softwood lumber situation by assuming I support the US position. How do you spell w-r-o-n-g in kanadian?????? I never said I supported their position, however it does take 2 to tangle and I have a bit of an understanding of both positions. Here is a point to consider: over three quarters of the value added lumber producers in BC are subsidised in one way or another by various levels of govt or their agencies. Stumpage fees and tax dollars are poured in BC Wood, for example, and the gods there dole it out as they see fit to their favourites (PC considerations paramount) in order to subsidise wages, equipment acquisition, property purchase, marketing etc. The Americans see this as a subsidy.....perhaps you could tell them the truth, tell them that it is NOT REALLY a subsidy, but only a slush fund to provide fat pensions for govt and BC Woods employees...I'm sure they would understand. I can stand on the front step to my shop and count over a half dozen of my competitors that are govt subsidised, so I UNDERSTAND how it works here.
Never assume I accept the US lies as gospel (as you put it)...I never stated my position before this and I take no sides. I do, however, try to look at where fault might be on my side in the hope that appeasement can be met (I'm taking the time to type this with 2 fingers, for example). The other side is NEVER 100% wrong while your side 100% correct. Blind patriotism is most often nothing more than selfishness. Case in point: we choose sides and offer opinion in a myriad of matters until we are directly effected, then we defend and consequently, offend.

I do beleive that if you were to take govt involvement out of the equation, Canadians can and would compete......want a few examples???? Shania Twain, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Micheal J Fox et al. I can give you a list of professional, competitive and extremely successful business people that excelled WITHOUT govt involvement in their business ventures (no fucking bombardiers in this bunch). These Canadians are the ones I am proud to call fellow citizens.....not the beneficiaries that WILL NOT make an attempt to stand on their own.
Further, I am repulsed by those that point their finger at others in attempt to distract from their own weaknesses and inadequacies. These are the kind if people that look into the sky and say out loud "I hate you God".....and then after they wipe their ass, they run around gloating about their power.
If you can object to hypocrisy in Ottawa, as we see you love to, then why not in Washington, or Whitehall, or Timbucfreakintoo As far as hypocracy goes, there is plenty on both sides of the border, but calling the Americans names has less chance of accomplishing results than does pointing out the hypocracies on this side. Last time I checked, I was voting north of the 49th and even that threat gets little attention any more.

One more thing, I have business associates on both sides of the border....I sell product produced in my BC shop on both sides of the border and I deal with good people on BOTH sides of the border.

Someday when you have a moment to spare, read the quote on my profile page.....it is the only thing there, but it says everything.
