That's only true (a tautology, in fact) if "save Intel" refers to an "IPC race". If it refers to actual performance (i.e. clock matters), then it is false, without knowledge of the clock differential between Penryn and Phenom-- knowledge Anand mentions he does not have earlier in the article.

Of course, Phenom will not be "significantly faster" clock/clock than Conroe/Kentsfield. That will be confirmed on or after the K10 launch, and after we see X38 chipset performance. (NDA up 24th, but boards should arrive earlier)
