All three of my degrees are from Tulane, and no one ever evinces the least amount of interest where I went for my BA. That's all I know. I have no real idea how Tulane is perceived out of Louisiana, it's a big deal there, and a lot of people have heard of it elsewhere. All I can say is it cost a bloody fortune. Well, it was much better than LSU or Loyola. It really was. And I was working, and my husband was working, and we lived in New Orleans. So, because it was my only realistic choice, what else could I do but pay through the nose? But I don't wish those crushing bills on anyone. I know having an elite undergrad is nice, but only if it is truly elite, that is, if one actually gets a good education, not just a fancy name on one's diploma.
