This comes back to the issue that CAP has been saying all along... that DMT had a highly tuned modem for the bake off and CAP didn't. So when trusting results from back at the back off, well.. it's safe to say I don't trust them.

>> Bellcore got it right. <<

Again, back to that same issue as above again....

>> Bottom line Bill, you can get 7Mbps over a wet noodle if you tweak the transmit power <<

The same thing can be said of DMT and CAP.

>>> Not measuring the PSD of each modem on each loop is a fundamental flaw of any loop performance test. If the tele.com test does not disclose these numbers than I would place the issue next to the toilet. It could come in handy some day. <<<<

I have to believe that round1 will be near that same toilet. Where were you for round1? Finally CAP has an independent lab test and you can only find those fault in the Methodology now. I'll go back to look at your posts starting at 4200, to see what your comments were on the methodology.

I've made it clear that I don't trust either side on this issue. Highly tuned modems for the bake off or for Teledotcom has to be talked about. Do you think Bell Atlantic would deploy a CAP solution that will destroy other services on other wires/bundles? I wasn't aware that the BBTK/LU SDV CAP solution being trialed in the BA region was trashing other service.

OK... so we really need a test of BOTH solutions that resolves your concerns. I don't have a problem with that... lets get the DMT and CAP camps to provide the modems for the test... theory is great on paper until it can be tested.... until later.
