Robert -

Cyrix chose to jump into Intel's swimming pool. Cyrix didn't invent the microprocessor or the EPROM, or many of the other innovations that Intel did. They didn't develop the PC market with their resources - financial and personnel.

They saw this big pool with Intel in it, full of money. They attempted to capitalize on this market and dove off into the pool. The fact that Intel may behave like a shark - hey, that's what you get when you invade a very competent, well heeled and agressive company's waters.

Let them sink or float by their own devices. The world existed before Cyrix and I'm sure it will go about its way with or without them.
