I know rules are set differently in Outlook and OE.
I use Outlook. Maybe this is also doable in OE.
I used rules to route all emails from people who send emails
I want to read right away to my Inbox. All other emails to my
main address go to a subfolder of my Inbox. My 2nd and 3rd
email addresses each have their own subfolders. This doesn't
eliminate unwanted Email but when I'm in a hurry I don't have
to sift and my Email is automatically prioritized by sender.
My Inbox is for friends and relatives who aren't too chatty
and don't send nonsense. The 1st subfolder gets the stuff from
the chatty and nonsense sending friends and relatives. My 3rd
box is for cool list stuff like the Langalist and Pollstar. The
4th box is for stuff I signed up for requiring an Email address
but who rarely send anything worth while.
