Scrapps -

I am very familiar with the cable modem industry and have never heard
anyone other than Aware say that Aware is even a factor.

Look at the cable modem standards: MCNS, DAVIC, and IEEE 802.14. None
of them is using DMT or DWMT. They are all 64/256-QAM for the
downstream and QPSK/16-QAM for the upstream.

Look at the cable modem vendors: Motorola, Bay Networks (LanCity),
3Com, Com21, NextLevel (formerly General Instrument), Hybrid Networks,
Scientific-Atlanta, Zenith, etc. None of their current systems uses
Aware technology and their next generation systems will most likely
be MCNS compliant.

I'm not meaning to be inflammatory, I just wanted to point out that
Aware's HFC story seems to be just that...a story. IMO Aware should
be evaluated solely on their prospects/performance in xDSL, not HFC,
at the present time.

Good luck with your investments!
