John, book value refers to the value that would accrete to each share after liquidating all the assets and paying off the liabilities. It's considered to be a rock bottom, conservative valuation of a company. You may have noticed there is not much "conservative" going on anywhere in the market today and certainly not in the pennies. I would agree that book value is not terribly important with MVEE, but Barton is right in pointing out how close the stock price is approaching book value. I'm not that knowledgeable about movie company accounting, but I assume the big companies finance movies out of current earnings and perhaps borrowed money. Regards, Suzanne
