Actaully this was a very goofy Ass guess--so goofy it was wrong. I was referring to the combined quarterly sales of XLNX and ALTR. So let's go backwards to the six dollars a share figure, and start with that as a goal. As noted the FPGA market is expected to reach about $2.5 billion--of which 75% is to high-end telecomm and networkers. This leaves LSI with a potential market of $1.85 billion. Thus, LSI would need to penetrate about 5% of the targeted FPGA/PLD market to add another six dollars to its share price beginning in 2001.
