Dipy, I actually printed your post and read it over a couple of times. The only thing I remember from the early seventies were those dreaded gas lines, and of course gold exploding in the late seventies. Unless we can duplicate the environment that existed back then it is fruitless to speculate about a repeat performance in today's market. Remember the crash of '87? Well, even if one were to have invested the week before the crash they still would have been better off investing in the market, compared to sticking their money in a bank, within 18 months. Rajiv
