Sapper, I think the problem with most on line trading houses is that they are, or were, all geared to handle the average modem speed of 28.8k and a few still have that type of system. Some are upgrading and some are not.Soooooooo......We can hit the site with our ADSL and Cable modems at breakneck speed and then we hit speed bumps and our data is slowed down.Once the sites or servers are brought up to speed there may be a difference. As an example,in my business.....The brokerage I sell funds through just came out with new remoteware software to download client data.This will eliminate refresh of data via diskette and can be done 24 hours a day......BUT.......I can not use ADSL so I have to set up my 28.8k modem for downloads off the site.The idea is great.....the hardware is antiquated. Technology is moving faster than most companies can adapt. FWIW Osprey
