I agree with your perspective, and its really only the short-run that matters with respect to gleaning profits from this market -- that is why I try to trade solely on technicals (which, as a academic economist, makes me something of a mild anathema among peers).

After all, when the long-run gets here we will have an opportunity to make another short-run decision!
