All I can tell you is that when I filled out the option application form, I told them I knew what I was doing, and that I had enough capital to support what I wanted to do. Interesting that you can't sell naked puts, which interestingly is exactly the same as selling covered calls, which you can do. The reserve requirements may be higher if you sell covered calls, though.

I have also been know to buy in-the-money calls, but I was hoping to back into a covered call position, which was why I did it this way. Plus I like to collect time premium rather than pay it.
