[Siemens: you lost me there]

The URL doesn't mention any actual order and I'm not really what they'd be ordering anyway. What exactly is RC "verifying" per your previous post? That Siemens has placed an order, size unknown? That "someone" has placed an order, "rush", for X units? I'm confused. What are the numbers again? I seem to recall 100,000 being bandied around. 100K what? All help appreciated.

Is Siemens ordering X number of Overtures and Y number of Allegros from Amati? What are X and Y? I thought Amati hadn't decided yet which chip to use, CopperGold or the TI C6X. Does this mean AMTX has chosen the TI chip over CG for Overture and Allegro? Will the hardware be resold with the Amati label or will it be relabeled "Siemens"?

Or is Siemens ordering X number of TI C6X's plus Amati software and building their own modems and DSLAMs? Or is it Italtel doing the ordering and assembly for Siemens? Help!

I'm also interested to know how so many different analysts, who as you noted earlier today can't seem to put 2 and 2 together, have such detailed information when we, who dig and dig, can't get anything solid. Is the soundview person one of those who gave you the Siemens number?

Thx again,
mark
