Thanks for reminding us about bbruin's post #185. And also thanks for telling us about the Commerce Secretary's speech. I have a feeling that his views may very well be reflecting the administration's outlook toward the matter of encryption also.

This is where I am glad that Clinton is of my generation...although of course he is older than I am, and no, I have not slept with him.

But the fact that Clinton is younger I would think would be an advantage in dealing with Internet issues. We're the generation that was the "link" between the computer and the non-computer age. I remember graduating from high school and everything was still being done manually, but talk of computers was on the horizon. It was greatly feared by many that computers would take away jobs. No one seemed to mention that they would also create far many more jobs than they would be taking away.

Anyway, many of the people in my parent's generation seem to not have that much interest in computers....although that is changing some. But MOST of the people in my generation and the generation that followed mine...seem to accept computers and the Internet as a given and we want it to blossom to it's fullest.

It can not blossom to it's fullest unless all the technology that is possible is allowed. And that includes encryption.

Actually, ever since I read about the coming of Internet2, I just figured that higher levels of encryption are going to become a given.

I would love to be sitting in on talks that JAWZ might be having with various companies right now. And speaking of talks, where's Chris?
I've been waiting with bated breath for the rest of his answers to some of the questions placed before him.

Hey Chris! You doing ok? I remember you said that the answers would have to be written after hours. Well, gee, I'm such an optimist that I figure that JAWZ must be keeping you VERY busy right now and so therefore you just haven't had time to write answers to those questions. Listen, I understand. Until yesterday, I wouldn't have had time either.

But why don't you just poke your nose in and let me know if I am right or not in thinking that JAWZ is keeping you very busy.
