Alcoa Pension Liability to Increase by $700 Mln to $1 Billion

Pittsburgh, Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Alcoa Inc., the world's largest aluminum maker, expects an increase in pension liability of $700 million to $1 billion, the company said on its Web site.

''Assumption changes for major plans are expected to impact after-tax earnings'' by about $50 million a year. There is no ''material'' change in funding expected in 2003, the company said.
