do well to take a stroll down memory lane. That might
just give them a clue about why Republicans like me can’t
help but laugh everytime I hear one of them utter the
phrase.

Judicial Watch has been successful in getting the White House to release their visitor logs and it appears that Jack Abramoff visited the White House – brace yourselves – two times since 2001. Two! Wow. That is one more than one.
<<< Lobbyist Jack Abramoff made two visits to the White House before being convicted earlier this year in an expanding federal investigation of political corruption, documents released on Wednesday showed.
Visitor logs kept by the Secret Service showed that Abramoff visited the White House for about 26 minutes on March 6, 2001, and for about 47 minutes on January 20, 2004.
The Secret Service released the visitor logs after Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest group, filed a lawsuit to obtain them under the Freedom of Information Act. The logs do not indicate who Abramoff met with at the White House.
“At first glance, these documents seem incomplete when compared to other White House visitor logs obtained by Judicial Watch. We therefore have reason to believe there are additional details about Jack Abramoff’s visits to the White House that have not been disclosed,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. >>>
So, maybe there are additional details that have not been disclosed. Even if there are, it appears unlikely that Abramoff’s White House visits are going to come close to the 49 or so visits Johnny Chung made to the Clinton White House. Here is a reminder of what a culture of corruption really looks like:
<<< Chung made at least 49 visits to the White House, despite the fact that a National Security Council official concluded that he was a “hustler” seeking to exploit his friendship with the Clintons to impress Chinese business associates.
During one visit to the White House, he handed a $50,000 check to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s chief of staff, Margaret A. Williams.
Williams accepted the check and passed it along to the DNC, even though federal law bars government employees from accepting campaign contributions on government property.
From 1994 to 1996, Chung made 12 personal or corporate donations to the DNC totaling $366,000. The DNC returned all of the money last year, stating that it had “insufficient information” about its origins. >>>
