win2000 sp2 and norton speed disk....

evidently symantec products are producing warnings after installing service pack 2.

my hard drive showed over 5% fragmentation, so i went into norton utilities5.0 (as a component of norton systemworks2001) to run speed disk. this is the warning dialog that popped up on my desktop:

"Norton Speed Disk
Current Operating System: NT5 SP2
Warning! This version of Norton Speed Disk has not been tested with the SP that is installed on your computer. You should run LiveUpdate to see if an updated version of Speed Disk is available.
Supported Operating Systems:
NT4 SP3, SP4, SP5, SP6
NT5 SP0, SP1"

fwiw, i knew i had already run liveupdate several times after having installed the service pack, so i clicked 'OK' and proceeded with running speed disk.

everything went fine.

:)
