It's easy to see why!
News corp is a mere media conglomerate, with interests in publishing, movies,
television, major league baseball, and the internet. They own 20th Century
Fox and the Fox Network, and some other worthless stuff like 22 television
stations, TV Guide, The Times of London.
On the other hand, Yahoo is a PORTAL. It's the gateway to the INTERNET!
How can News Corp expect to compete with that!
How can they expect to attract the kind of eyeballs Yahoo can attract!
What can news corp offer?
Melrose Place, Baywatch, the Baseball Play offs? How can that compete with
Yahoo Calendar! Or Yahoo Pager! or My Yahoo!
Oh and sure.... people are still going to the movies and watching TV now ..
but that's because they haven't tried surfing at Yahoo. Once they have surfed
at Yahoo, they are sure to spend all their free time there.
It's clear that Yahoo is bigger than television, sports, movies....
It's a PORTAL!
