If I were an inteL common holder I would not feel too comfortable though, obviously, this will take at least a few more days to play out.

I don't think the battlefield has changed much. Intel supporters expected to take a clear lead with P4, which didn't happen. But you can't deny that Intel is not better off on November 20th compared to November 19th.

Prior to P4, Intel was totally outclassed, 200 MHz behind, behind on DDR, and now the race is a lot closer, Intel may not be facing the wall as they did at 1 GHz with P3.

AMD is well positioned to do well in 2001, but it will not be a rout. Every inch of market share will have to be fought for.
