Just to be pernickety, IIRC CPM had nothing to do with DOS. Micro$oft bought an OS from some other company and used that to build the first IBM DOS. CPM was a rival beforehand but essentially dissapeared as soon as DOS made its entrance. There were certainly some similarities with the commands, but it was surface only, unless I am very much mistaken.
