If natural monopolies cause a lack of innovation, why didn't the countries with no natural monopolies surpass the US in terms of innovation. The answer is because his assertion is more theory than fact. No. The reason why most of the innovation comes from the US is because of many political, social, and economic environmental factors that encourage it.
