Any delay between the time Bre-X gets the Strathcona report and releases it means the report has good news. Here's why:

Companies are required to release adverse info as soon as they receive it, or face liability to all people who bought while the company held the bad info and suffered losses when the stock dropped when the bad info was finally released. This is why Bre-X HAD to release the FCX and Strathcona info immediately last month.

It is not a two-way street, however; i.e. the company need NOT release "good" info right away, because the law will not hold the company liable to people who "would have" bought had they known the good news. (sidenote: insider trading on good news is a different issue).

Bre-X says it will get the Strathcona report this week, and release the results Monday. If this is so, the results must be good, and Bre-X knows this; otherwise they would release the results right away, to minimize exposure to people who are buying at $2-3 a share and would lose it all when the stock tanks as the result of a BAD report.
