news can come along at anytime and change the current picture, so your distain for TA is warranted if you take TA as an absolute, which TA is not. Right now the stock is running on the GLW news and the fact it has sold down. The close will be more important then the action during the day anyhow. Furthermore Greenspan is only a factor if he does raise rates, the market will view that as going too far, but you are right, the market will be in the wait and see mode.
