Schwarzenegger says he won't become a Dem like Specter
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, amid delivering a keynote address today at AltaMed's National Public Policy Forum in Beverly Hills, went on a bit of a tangent to discuss Sen. Arlen Specter's recent flip to the Democratic Party.

And I was one of the first supporters of the Obama stimulus plan, even though I'm a Republican. I'm one of those few Republicans that jumped out and supported him (Applause). Right along with Arlen Specter, Senator Arlen Specter. And the reason why I mention that is because I just want to make sure that you know I'm not going to become a Democrat because I'm supporting President Obama, because I think that the Kennedys have enough Democrats. I think it's about time that we have some Republicans also there.

But I have a cutout at home of Obama. My wife has promised me that we will only have that cutout of Obama in our dining room until he wins. But he never left; the cutout is still there. (Laughter) So there are plenty of Democrats in our house and there are all kinds of debates and arguments. And people always ask me, this must be wild, you must have fights all the time about Democrats versus Republicans and about policy and politics and all those things. And I always tell them, actually we have no fights at all, especially since I've been sleeping in the garage. (Laughter) Everything is just fine, everything is fine.
