Joe, I have the opposite take- $350 premium for a P4 seems cheap. Beside the processor, you got a $200 mobo in place of a $100 one, and $200 min. DRDRAM in place of $50 worth of SDRAM. Plus, the special case, power supply, and HVAC system for the P4. I was mentally calculating that stripper Dell P4 system was close to the discounter's component cost in price, though I'm sure Dell pays less. Processor + mobo + DRDRAM puts you right at around $1k to start with. Of course, the published price for the ghz cumine is $500 and the P4 1.4 is $600, so the mobo + RDRAM cost work out within the $350 premium. If there's PC600 RDRAM, maybe Mikey's even making a little extra. Cheers, Dan.
