Welcome, I was surprised no one was discussing the Canadian options scene. It's getting more and more popular. I've most recently been trading Bre-X options, or crapshoot. I'm out now, although I'm considering a near term straddle.

My take on the banks, is that the options were being written. Bank investors trying to squeeze more returns out of their bank stocks before they fall. I agree it may seem strange, I would'nt be buying bank CALLS. Check to see if they were sold at the bid.

In general, I like Mitel and Air Canada CALLS right now.

Cheers !!
