Determining color is a question I did not think of. There was another factor that should have been cleared up as well, but I thought of it while going to a New Year's Eve party and now I forget what it was.

I'm more familiar with English notation but can read Algebraic, once I get the gist of where the squares are.

In English....if you push the pawn which is in front of the White King two squares forward on your opening move it is noted as P-K4.

In Algebraic....the same move is E2-4, I believe.

EDIT....The other issue was 'touch move'. That is to say, a player obviously has the 15 minute window to change his/her mind. Once the move has been posted for 15 minutes the move cannot be rescinded.
