GDI Global Data's wholly owned subsidiary, Global Data Granite
Communications, a leading innovator of integrated wireless automatic data
collection solutions, received certification to ship PenRight!'s market
leading pen-based operating environment preloaded on each NOVAS hand-held
unit.
To simplify application development for the NOVAS hand-held, Global Data
Granite Communications will provide integrated routines for laser bar code
scanners, printers, signature capture, handwriting recognition, and power
management. By supporting PenRight!'s rapid application development tools,
vertical solutions can be quickly created and deployed for a wide range of
mobile pen-enabled data collection markets.
PenRight! has certified over 1,200 leading VARs, system integrators and
corporate developers to create applications using PenRight!'s rapid
application development environment for a variety of industries such as
route accounting, transportation, healthcare, retail, inventory management,
public safety, utilities, pharmaceutical, and many other mobile data
collection fields. NOVAS's software and hardware architecture is based on
industry standard specifications allowing existing PenRight! applications
to be directly ported to the unit with minimum configuration requirements.
