What Cameras to use...

Desktop cameras come in 3 types;
PCI Card and Cam (or camcorder)
USB port Cam
Parallel Port Cam

The PCI based cams like 3com Big Picture, Intel, Diamond and Winnov
run about $150 and giive the best frame rates. You need an open
PCI slot in your motherboard.

USB port cams like Intel, Kodak, Logitech/Connectix and Creative Labs
are very popular and perform well, they run $75-125. Make sure
your PC has USB ports and you are running either the B version of Win95 or Win98.

Parallel port cams like Logitech/Connectix and others are a bit slower
but are also very popular, they plug right into your PCs printer port.

One more option is using a camcorder with a PCI capture card like
Winnov or ATI, these also give great performance.
